Security Features: Why I Adore Korean Cell Phones
Korean cell phones always hold certain fascination that I can't resist. The design, dimension, looks always catch my full attention.
I know very well Nokia is the market leader especially here, in Indonesia. Most of cell phone buyers tend to spend their money to bring Nokia handsets home. I'm not anti Nokia but I'm not Nokia's biggest fan either. But being the mainstream is not really me.
What always makes me mesmerized by Korean cell phones is their elegant design. Compared to other celebrated vendors, Samsung and LG offer phones with much better looks. They looks shinier, even they cost less. The material chosen is also of better quality. At least that is what I think.

And what makes me love Korean phones more is that my favorite Korean celebs use them on the TV serials they're starring. I love to watch Korean dramas with modern setting. Cellular technology is far developed in South Korea, unlike here. So it is fun to see those actors and actresses using their latest and sophisticated phone models.
Apart from that, actually what makes me endlessly fall in love is Korean phone offers features all cell phone users on earth must have.; that is to say, security features. These features can be found on most of latest LG and Samsung phone models.
The first security feature is a feature that enables you to find where your lost cell phone is now and of course the cell number allegedly belonging to the thief/ pickpocket. Samsung names this feature "Mobile Tracker" but LG calls it "Anti Theft Mobile Tracker". No difference in terms of function, don't get fooled by the different names. Basically, to activate this feature you must set a couple of two cell numbers (not fixed land line residential numbers because they can't view text messages) other than yours. Whenever the damn thief changes the sim card, the phone automatically sends a text message to the 2 cell phone numbers you already set before, telling you the IMEI number and the new sim card. And the thief never knows this because the message is sent without his knowledge. This will give you chance to call the thief and lure him into giving your cell phone back (you must set him up in such a way and drag him to the nearby police station).
The second is privacy feature. You can lock (give a password) to some of certain menu parts, such as images, sounds, or message inbox (message inbox is the most private part of our phone, right?). So in case you lose the phone, no one can view the menu parts that you already set password. As far as I know, Samsung has this, I have no idea about LG.
